Beetlebugs Program
Beetlebugs is the toddler care program for children 24 to 36 months.
In Beetlebugs, we use an integrated play-based philosophy. We allow opportunities for both free and guided play which are used as a context for learning. Free play aids in the development of social competence and self regulation. Much of our learning is child-initiated, teacher-supported and hands on. Children learn to explore, discover and solve problems in playful and imaginative ways.
Guided by the province’s Early Learning Framework, we learn together and focus on inclusive practices. We recognize and respect uniqueness and focus on a variety of worldviews. We are lucky to live in a province that is full of rich diversity where we respect each other’s identities.
Healthy sustainable childcare is incredibly important. We are a community-based learning program that encourages and supports dialogue about each child’s early learning. Children differ in their physical, emotional, social and intellectual capacities. The individuality of each child provides us with a wealth of opportunities for learning. By collaborating with families, teachers and the community we will ensure the needs of each child are met.
